Eat Apples for Beautiful Skin
Apples contain many skin-friendly nutrients. The high amount of vitamin C in apples stimulates collagen synthesis and, according to David Wolf Nutrition Expert and Author, “Vitamin C speeds up skin's cell production, which makes you look radiant, and strengthens hair and nails. Apples also contain B vitamins, like B5 and B9, proven to combat acne and irritation.” Rich in numerous other vitamins, minerals & antioxidants including Vitamin A & Copper, apples are superior for protecting from the skin from the effects of free radical damage such as wrinkles, dark spots, and fine lines. Apples also have been proven to help to improve heart, lung, immune and neurological health. ALWAYS eat the skin of the apple as they contain at least 20% more nutrients.
Apple Radiance Tea
- 4½ c. purified water
- 1 large apple—cut into wedges skin, seeds and core
- 2 Ceylon cinnamon sticks
- 2-inch piece of fresh turmeric-cut into chunks OR 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 inch piece fresh ginger— cut into chunks
- 2 tsp. virgin coconut oil
- 1/8 tsp. (or less) cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp. black peppercorns
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- fresh lemon juice
- raw (local) honey
- green tea (optional)
Bring first 8 ingredients to a boil, simmer at least 20 minutes. Strain tea and add vanilla. Serve with a squeeze of lemon and honey to taste. Can be kept in the fridge for about a week. You can also steep a bag of green tea in your finished tea for extra anti-oxidant protection.
